Navratri

culture

Navratri signifies the nine nights which are dedicated to the Divine Mother or Shakti. It usually falls in September or October month. Navratri is the longest celebrated festival in India.

For those of us who are still inept at the art of grooving to the beats of the Garba music, the mere colors, and gorgeous costumes can entice us into trying it, because, it is that time of the year when we get a chance to reconnect with our family, friends, acquaintances and, most importantly, our playful side!

Navratri festivities are filled with vibrant colors that are visible in the decorations, dresses, and designs all around you.

Silicon IT Hub organized a Garba night for the Siliconians at the office premises. The costumes of Garba highlight the vibrant colors of Navratri. Everyone came to the office decked up in colorful traditional attires. Women looked gorgeous in chaniya choli with an embellished dupatta teamed with traditional jewellery, while the men wore a full-sleeved kurta with kafni pajamas, teamed with a turban.

Everybody assembled at the premises at 7 o’clock. During Garba, everyone moved around in circles, making circular movements with their hands and feet. With a pair of colorful dandiya sticks, everyone danced energetically, striking them to the beats of the drums. It was exceptionally a night of revelry.
