Picnic to Kumbhalgarh & Udaipur

Picnic is a fantabulous experience in itself, and when we have it with the Silicon and Civic family members, we have a lot of memories to cherish!

With joy in heart and planning of enjoying every moment of this excursion to Kumbhalgarh (Rajasthan), we left Ahmedabad on Friday Night. When the clock struck twelve, the HR department has revealed their arrangement of celebrating a birthday of one of our team members in the bus. We had cake cutting and a lot of fun together!

After having a stoppage at around 3 to 3.30 am, we continued our journey towards Rajasthan and had another Tea Break at Rajasthan with hot breakfast of 'Pauva' and Tea-biscuits at between 6 to 7 am.

Finally, we reached at around 10.30 am in the Kumbhalgarh resort where every team member got a grand welcome in a traditional Rajasthani style. After having a breakfast, every one was free to do their favourite activities at resort. Some were in swimming pool, some took rest after a long journey, and some of us were playing volleyball. Photo freaks have not missed any moment to capture!

A sumptuous lunch with local delicacies at around 2.15 pm and after a lunch, all went to visit Kumbhalgarh Fort at 4.15 pm. What a scenic beauty and architectural marvel we all witnessed there! All of us enjoyed roaming and absorbing the magnificence of one of the longest walls in the world and other monuments at the Kumbhalgarh fort. We had a tea and snacks after returning from the fort and finally reached to resort at around 8 pm.

After having a gala dinner at around 8.15 pm, all enjoyed Rajasthani folk dance. How can we stay behind when it comes to traditional dance? We performed and enjoyed 'Garba' there and everyone simply forgot tiredness of a long journey! A good night sleep made everyone ready for the second day!

It was a pleasant Sunday morning and some of us visited a small lake (Zarna) near the resort before having breakfast at 10.30 am. Time for checkout from the resort was 11.30 am with group photos and a lot of memories of Kumbhalgarh! But, our journey has not ended yet. We left for Udaipur and enjoyed 'Dal Bati' there in lunch.

Clock showed 3.30 pm and we were in one of the famous landmarks of the city "Saheliyon Ki Badi". After spending around two and half hours there with a lot of enjoyment, we left Udaipur around 6 pm. We had a delicious dinner at around 11 pm on Himmatnagar Highway and again had a cake-cutting in the bus at sharp 12 am. Finally, we came to office at 1 am and will remember this trip at least till the next Silicon and Civic family annual trip!

What made our 2-day picnic pleasantly memorable is end-to-end planning and excellent execution of almost everything by our enthusiastic HR team. Be it birthday celebration, games like housie, dancing, antakshari, etc. in bus, lunch and dinners, and everything in between- our energetic HR executives have left no stone unturned to make this annual trip more enjoyable and memorable. Thanks a ton Silicon and Civic family for giving us pleasant times!
